The Bomber splitboard sidewinder binding uses the same technology as the Standard Trench Digger series but has been stripped down for a very light weight but strong binding for splitboards. The Bomber Binding is a plate binding that is designed to be used with hard shell boots like snowboard hardboots, AT boots, and mountaineering type boots.
The SideWinder Split uses a two piece sole block assembly with a precision pivot and bearing that allows it to “roll” side to side. The motion is controlled with the use of Urethane pads (E-pads) that are inserted in between the upper and lower Sole Blocks. Not only does the system give you side to side motion, but the E-Pads also dampen that motion.The key is this: the SideWinder bindings give us control over where we want the motion. In this case it is only side to side but your toe to heel motion is still locked down for that edge power you need.
The binding comes with either Medium (Blue) or Soft (Yellow) E-pads. If you are over 150 pounds, you could go for the stiffer Blue E-pads.
!!The Voile Universal Slider Tracks are part of the Voile Universal Mounting kit and are not included with the bindings.
