Designed as a park-capable quiver killer, the Northwest came from Prior Athlete and staff demands for a park weapon that still does it all. A versatile waist width allows the Northwest to rip a turn, remain playful in all conditions, excel in the park and still give float on those resort powder days.

From charging cliffs to throwing down in Blackcomb's Black Park, the Northwest 100 is our staff pick for a single in-bouds park ski made for BC conditions. Compared to its 110 and 116mm waist larger brothers, the Northwest 100's narrower waist width suits more varied snowpack conditions and is an ideal everyday "party ski" for areas that see less snow than the Pacific Northwest. Comes standard with traditional camber to create a wicked park ski, and also avilable in hybrid rocker for an all mountain charger.

Tri-glass: a stitched fabric with glass fibers running in three directions with carbon pop rods. NANOFIBER provides the ultimate in long-term durability, vibration dampening and consistent high performance. NANOFIBER CARBON does it all at minimum weight.

Quad-glass

Our quad-axial glass/carbon composite (quad glass) is a stitched fabric with fibers running in four directions (+30, -30, 0 and +90 degrees). It also contains two 6cm-wide, 10-count carbon strips running lengthwise down center of each ski. The quad-glass material is layered on each side of a vertically laminated maple woodcores combined with UHMW sidewalls, 4001 sintered bases and nylon topsheets. The fiberglass/carbon configuration of quad-glass creates a responsive, long lasting ride with excellent torsional stability. The additional directional weave creates enhanced torsional stiffness in comparison to the tri-axial fibreglass construction.

Traditional Camber Profile provides maximum pop, stable landing and excellent edge control and grip thanks to a long effective edge. Hybrid is a rocker profile mixed with traditional camber underfoot, providing flotation and predictability in powder, mixed with smooth transitions, excellent edge control, and some of that traditional energy feel turn-to-turn. Micro is just that, traditional but on a smaller scale.

Hot Wax

Your new Prior board comes finished with factory machined 90° edge and 1° bevel, speed polish base finish and machine wax. For that extra slick finish you can upgrade to a hot wax for $20. Our specialists will finish and wax your board/ski based on the environment it is destined to spend its days ripping pow, groomed corderoy or spring slush.

Custom hot wax

For maximum wax saturation we iron on your desired temperature of wax thoroughly and let it set. Once it is dry, your board is scraped, brush structured and buffed for maximum glide and moisture release.

Pro Tune

For extra performance we recommend having your new Prior snowboard hand-tuned to your specifications by the pros at the Prior factory. A Pro Tune includes the following:

Hand edge tuning
The side edge is machined to 89 degrees and the base beveled at 1 degree. The board edges are then hand finished with a diamond stone. If you would like your edges pro-tuned to other specifications please add this to the comments box on your order.
Note: All Prior boards (except alpine models) are detuned approx. 3cm along the effective edge on the tip and tail.

Tech & Features

The flex pattern of the northwest is progressive, meaning that a playful tip and tail blends with a stiff underfoot platform. This creates a playful yet stable ski that can handle anything you throw at it. A long effective edge, and a radius of 23m means that the NW will respond exceptionally at high speed. The softer tip and tail combined with a hybrid rocker profile allows the ski to release when needed and remain nimble in tight terrain.

Designed to be versatile, the NW100 is the perfect everyday ride for a skier that rips the park through to the powder and everything in between.

Custom Shapes

The Prior shop has been making custom "one off" snowboards since 1989. The layout and design of our factory has been built with this in mind. We can make a board to pretty much any shape and flex pattern you want. The following chart outlines prices for common revisions to existing templates:

Custom Graphics

Prior has been offering custom graphics since 1989 and provides a complete custom topsheet and base graphic service. This is ideal for riders who want a one-of-a-kind look on their Prior board, and for companies who desire special corporate gifts and/or promotions. Custom Topsheet fees are single set up design fees, and are required for tooling cost coverage. Custom to-sheets can be applied to multiple product and charges are split accordingly. Please contact us for any further enquiries or to begin the design process.

Topsheet Artwork

Topsheet design and colour options are almost unlimited. We can print topsheets of photo color quality. All topsheets are sublimated onto a white, matte nylon topsheet for a professional look and finish. (sorry we cannot sublimate onto a clear topsheet material therefore clear windows are not an option for one off customs). Above prices based on receipt of art in digital file format in either of the following formats:

* For art that is done in vector based (ie. Illustrator or similar) program we require artwork in PDF or AI format.

* For bit mapped based art (ie. Photoshop or similar) we require TIFF, PSD or PDFformats. The File size must be 300 DPI in rectangular shape that measures 6cm longer than desired board length x 34cm wide. Note that files will likely be in excess of 100MB and can be sent by Dropbox etc or dropped off at the factory.

Base Artwork

Prior offers diecut custom bases in one to three colors. As base colors are cut with a drag blade knife, so there are some design limitations. We ask that you first email a low res jpeg file to us for review and approval.

Timing

Our build times vary based on production volume and seasonal needs. We always aim to have your order built within 4 weeks of confirming your order. Sometimes this time will vary but rest assured we are putting the time and effort into hand building your custom ride!

For full custom orders build time is typically 6-8 weeks due to the supplier requirements for non-inventory items.

Provides floatation and predictability in powder of all kinds, while it also allows the board to initiate sooner. Traditional camber in the tail provides additional power to drive off your back foot.

Traditional

Provides maximum pop, stable landing and excellent edge control and grip thanks to a long effective edge.

Micro-camber

Micro camber provides a stable ride with fast edge to edge engagement. Perfect for powder shapes or riders that want a stable and responsive ride in all conditions.

Hybrid

Provides flotation and predictability in powder and silky smooth transitions edge-to-edge with excellent edge control. 2-4mm of traditional camber underfoot provides energy from turn-to-turn.

Tip

Mild nose rocker profile with traditional camber throughout the rest of the ski. A perfect combination for turn initiation, edge hold and float for this shape.

Flat

Flat rocker is great for powder shapes & bigger waist width boards. Flat rocker provides fast edge to edge engagement and maximum float in the deep stuff.
